Are there any books about Redding’s involvement in the Revolutionary War?
The MTL has a historical section for Redding. Aside from the Historic Novel, “My Brother Sam Is Dead”, based on actual locations and personalities and families in Redding, there are publications that deal with Redding’s involvement with the British march to destroy the Danbury Supply Depot in 1777, as they came up the Blackrock Turnpike, which, in turn caused General Washington to establish what is now known as Putnam Park, as a string of fortifications from Tappan NJ to West Point to Redding Connecticut.to contain the British in New York City.
